Recruitment is a major portion of instrumental music teachers jobs. Without students, you have neither a job or an ensemble. But fear not! Who doesn’t want to play an instrument?
Here are some simple tips to help recruitment:
1. Smile
2. Say hi to students
3. Ask their name
4. Be visible – don’t just hide in your room
5. Have a welcoming doorway / classroom / bulletin board
6. Stand outside your door during open house
