Letter of Recommendation for:
Steve Allegro
To Whom It May Concern:
Steve is a student in my private double bass studio. I have been working with Steve for approximately three years and am continuously amazed at his progress and ability. His skill level is years beyond his age. Steve plays with outstanding technique and his full tone will complement any ensemble. His playing (and maturity level) can easily fit into any college setting.
Steve’s acute sense of pitch, rhythm, musicianship will augment any musician he performs with. He is always ready and able to adjust his playing for different genres and settings.
I believe Steve and I have been successful in developing the necessary skills on the double bass that all, or at least most, musical situations demand. We have worked on a balanced diet of scales and arpeggios, shifting, vibrato, bowing work, etudes, excerpts, and solos.
In whatever situation he is placed, Steve and the bass section, as well as the orchestra, will benefit from his participation.
