Support Staff
This really includes anyone that isn’t a teacher, including para-professionals, maintenance, custodians, aides, secretaries, etc. If you don’t treat these people like gold, you shouldn’t teach. They are the scaffolding and structure of the school system.
If you ask them a question and get ‘snapped at’, don’t take it personally. They’ve probably had to answer it a thousand times and are rather busy!

Indeed! When I first started teaching as a band director, my supervisor, who was the department head, told me a tip that always paid off hugely in my years of teaching and directing bands: Make friends with the custodians and, as you said, treat them like gold. The payback is biggest around concert time!
