First, to track my time I use Chronology. It’s a great, simple little app that supports multiple timers. And you can see that I also use it for my laundry
.
Second, I have my practice playlist. I have used Amadeus to change pitch and speed as well as isolating passages.
Third, the program Decibel is great for monitoring your volume and working on bow control.

Pingback: iPhone Practice Tips
I’ve got to get one of those iPhones – they’re just very expensive in the UK at the moment!!
I think the mobile could eventually take the place of all the traditional practice partners (metronome, tuner, recorder, music player).
It is a great tool but I do like having separate devices for a few reasons.
-I use multiple devices (tuner, metronome, timer) simultaneously. Can’t do this with the iPhone
-Battery life. A tuner / metronome with AAA or AA batteries last much longer than the iPhone.
That being said it is great to have the tools with you at all times – as in the iPhone apps.
Do you have any problem doing stuff with the iPhone given that it doesn’t have a built in copy and paste tool?
I don’t have any problems with the lack of copy/paste with the tools I’m using. That said, I would like copy/paste as a system wide implementation.
Until then, for some work arounds, let me recommend:
Magic Pad
Appigo’s Notebook (syncs to the web where you can retrieve via pc)
PhoneView
MobileFiles Pro
AirSharing
EasyEmail
